Haider is an upcoming Drama film of Bollywood actor Sahid Kapoor.This film is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj. The story of the film is written by Basharat Peer and Bhardwaj. It is an adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, and is set in Kashmir. Haider is the third installment of Bhardwaj's Shakespeare trilogy after Maqbool and Omkara.
Tabu (Haider's stepmother) and (Queen of Denmark), Shahid Kapoor (Haider) and (Hamlet), Shraddha Kapoor (Arshia , Ophelia), Kay Kay Menon, Narendra Jha, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Lalit Parimod, Ashish Vidyarthi, Aamir Bashir, Sumit Kaul, Rajat Bhagat and Irrfan Khan (In a special appearance) are the star cast of the film.
Most shooting of the film was done in Srinagar in Kashmir.The shooting of the film was started on 8 November 2013. First trailer of the film Haider is launched by Utv and Vishal Bhardwaj on 8 July at an event in Mumbai.
The director (Vishal Bhardwaj) himself composed the music for Haider. The film is scheduled for release on 2 October 2014.
